So lets pack things up and get going to our new home!

So lets pack things up and get going to our new home!

You’re probably wondering why are there no new posts since about last week. Relax, I will never shut down this blog as long as I have the domain name. So what’s up with the absence of posts in the last few days? I’m moving the blog.

Yep, that’s right. This blog is actually going to grow as a full-time VOCALOID blog, instead of my small School Project. We’re moving into Vocaloidism, along with a new forum there, so be sure to join it! All posts and comments are moved, and I’ll be checking all your comments and answering all your questions again. Sorry for the absence of me in the last few days, but now I’m back, on the new domain.

Weekly Ranking #55

October 21st, 2008

Well now, it have been a while since I reviewed a Weekly Ranking… But now I’m back to reviewing those rankings again! And speaking of rankings, the daily rankings can be checked in the “VOCALOID Ranking Watcher” flash widget on the top of the left sidebar of this blog. In the last two weekly rankings, my current favorite VOCALOID song was on the first place, so I’m pretty happy with the weekly rankings. Several new great songs also appeared in this weekly ranking, continue reading for my opinion of this week’s Weekly VOCALOID Ranking.

VOCALOID Song Milestones…

October 20th, 2008
WHOA! The last time I saw comments like this it was on Urotandah... =x

WHOA! The last time I saw comments like this it was on Urotandah... =x

A few weeks ago, Miku Miku ni Shiteageru hit the 5 million viewcount on Nico Nico Douga. Last week, two songs hit another milestone. Melt and Koi Suru VOC@LOID. Melt just hit the 3 million viewcount on Nico Nico Douga, making it the eighth most viewed video in there. To celebrate this occasion, ryo himself went to Nico Nico Douga and answered people’s comments on his video. He’s online on Nico Nico Douga from 02:33 AM to 03:57 AM last night. This made the comment almost blocks the whole video. For those who can read Japanese and is interested, read on for a transcript of the chat. Melt hit the 3 million viewcount mark last night on 21:28 PM. Here’s the last comments before it hit the 3 million viewcount. xD

I just love Nico Nico Douga.

I just love Nico Nico Douga.

On the other hand, OSTER project’s famous Koi Suru VOC@LOID reached the 1 million viewcount mark. Someone even counted the viewcount to 999,999 in the comments. We will never see something like this for a video in YouTube… =x

Congratulations on reaching 1 million!

Happy Birthday Fujita Saki!

October 19th, 2008

Today is the 24th birthday of Fujita Saki, who is the voice actress of Hatsune Miku. As we all know, she just made her debut single a few weeks ago, Crystal Quartz. And today, to celebrate her birthday, a talk show and autograph session was held in Akihabara. For those of you who haven’t heard the song yet, here’s the song. I personally think that it’s awesome. And when I first heard it, it kinda reminds me of Hatsune Miku’s voice (well, she IS her voice actress…)

And of course, Anime-TV had to give her a birthday cake! Happy 24th birthday Fujita Saki!

Urotandah Album Releasing soon!

October 19th, 2008
Liberal Soldier.

Liberal Soldier.

This is a bit of an old news, and “Urotandah” is just my way of romanizing 卑怯戦隊うろたんだー. Urotandah is the second most popular VOCALOID song ever, just below Miku Miku ni Shiteageru. This song is sung by KAITO, MEIKO and Hatsune Miku. If you’ve been following the Weekly VOCALOID Rankings, you should be familiar with this song as it appears on almost all Weekly VOCALOID rankings. Here’s the the song.

shinP finally decided to release a single of this song, which would be released in December 18, and it could already be pre-ordered in Amazon Japan. I personally think that this is one of the best VOCALOID songs ever. It has became a meme in Nico Nico Douga and Countless PV/Arrangements have been made in there. What do you think of this very popular song?

The end of 2008 is coming… CV03?

October 19th, 2008
When are we going to see the next VOCALOID?

The next VOCALOID?

It have been a while since a new VOCALOID is released by Crypton. Hatsune Miku was released in September 2007 and Kagamine Rin and Len was released in December 2007. And of course Kagamine Rin and Len Act.2 was released last July. CV03 was planned, and the site only have the “Releasing in 2008″ text, with no additional information. As the end of 2008 is coming, we’re wondering when will CV03 would be released? There has been no announcements from Crypton about this.

The December Issue of the DTM Magazine is now up for pre-order in Amazon Japan. “VOCALOID MANIACS” is a section of the magazine, and is very useful for any VOCALOID user. Most VOCALOID Fansites think that the CV03 Announcement would be announced in the December Issue of the DTM Magazine. As for now, the Crypton Official VOCALOID site still said “Releasing in 2008″, but I’m not sure if CV03 would be released in this year. Or are they being like Apple, not saying anything and then suddenly releases a product the next day?

Kagamine Rin and Len to be at Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA-!

October 13th, 2008

The Tokyo Game Show Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- talk event is over. Some new nice details were released by Saki Fujita, Hatsune Miku’s voice actress, and Asami Shimoda, Kagamine Rin and Len’s voice actress. Including… the appearance of Kagamine Rin and Len in the game. I guessed that would be revealed in this event since Asami Shimoda is in there xD

The event was called 「咲と麻美の恋スルラジオ in 東京ゲームショウ(架空)」, which means “Saki and Asami’s love Sururaji (?) in the Tokyo Game Show (Fictional)”. I really don’t know what they meant by “Sururaji”. The event was held yesterday, October 12, at 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM in the Tokyo Game Show SEGA Stage, and is limited to 300 person. We could see the event live streaming from SEGA’s site, but most of it is cut. Most of the information released was what we knew, including the trailer and the costumes I mentioned in my last post. But some new things are shown, such as the smooth movement of the 3D model used for the game and the big news, Kagamine Rin and Len is going to appear in the game. For more pictures of the event, continue reading.

Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Costumes

October 12th, 2008
The collaboration project is now finished!

The collaboration project is now finished!

We’re nearing the end of 2008 now. Only a few more months until Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- is released in early 2009. SEGA made a collaboration with PIAPRO to make contents, such as songs and illustrations or costume designs, for Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA-. This project had ended some time ago, and you could see all of the submitted songs, illustrations, and costumes. All of them can be downloaded from the game when it’s released as an additional content. But we’re going to talk about the costumes now. SEGA would then choose some of the great ones and then transform it into a 3D Hatsune Miku costume. 4 out of the 672 submitted had been chosen by SEGA, and to see them, continue reading! =)

Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- on the Tokyo Game Show!

October 11th, 2008
A talk show with two of my favorite voice actresses!

A talk show with two of my favorite voice actresses!

Tokyo Game Show is currently being held in Japan. And of course, Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- is in that event. I don’t know if there’ll be any demo of the game playable in the event, but today, a talk show about this game would be held. Asami Shimoda, Kagamine Rin and Len’s voice actress, and Saki Fujita, Hatsune Miku’s voice actress are going to be in this event. Tickets can and is only limited to 300 people. But how about us who doesn’t live in Japan? Fortunately, SEGA is thinking about us and is giving live streaming coverages on their website. It starts on 11:30 AM Japan Time (GMT+9) and would go on for 30 minutes. If there’s any new information about the game, I’ll post an update about it. I’ll be watching the live streaming. =)

KEI-style illustrations of KAIKO!

October 4th, 2008
So she's in the same family as this MEIKO? Interesting... =o

So she's in the same family as this MEIKO? Interesting... =o

I really won’t say much in this post other than… WOW. KAIKO finally have a KEI-style illustration, making it look official! These pictures should explain itself. By the way, she is drawn with MEIKO, not MEITO. For some reason their family name is the same, too… But I thought MEIKO’s fan family name is sakine? I’m not sure about this now… xD

Well, this is created by sorbe, and you could view his/her PIAPRO here. And download more illustrations here. The password is 卑怯.

Read more for 2 more pictures if you’re really curious… =)
